13 Breakfasts that Take Literally 5 Minutes to Make
On weekday mornings, time is of the essence. I've got to get dressed, brush my teeth, maybe work out (maybe), do my makeup, eat breakfast, and somehow make it out the door before 9 A.M. To be honest, breakfast is the least of my priorities, and if it's going to take me longer than five minutes to make, I'm probably going to skip it.
Trust me, I know I shouldn't be skipping it. Even though it might not be "the most important meal of the day," I always feel better on the mornings I have eaten breakfast than the ones I haven't. But I need guaranteed speedy and healthy recipes. Not ones that say they only take five minutes when actually they take 30. Or things like bagels which, sure, take no time to make, but don't have the nutrients I need to feel satisfied.
Since I figure a lot of you are in the same boat as I am, I challenged myself with finding actual five-minute breakfast recipes, and I managed to dig up 13 ideas that fit the bill. A couple of them require a bit of forethought: There's a quinoa breakfast cereal that's going to need cooked quinoa and an egg bowl that'll need hard-boiled eggs, but those are easy tasks you can add to your Sunday meal prep plan or handle while you're making dinner the night before.
The rest of the recipes will take about the same amount of time it takes you to wash your face and brush your teeth—sometimes even less than that.
