Since officially leaving the White House, former president Barack Obama has been peacefully enjoying the vacation of our dreams in the British Virgin Islands—backwards baseball cap and all. Though the Internet has tried its hardest to persuade old Barack to come back, he's continued to bro out on vacay. Recently, the former president joined billionaire Richard Branson on Branson's private island—Necker Island—for some epic kitesurfing and general goofing around.

Branson penned a blog post on Tuesday that shared some details about Obama's vacation. Branson revealed that Obama finally had a chance to enjoy water sports for the first time in eight years—surely difficult for someone who grew up in Hawaii.

"One of the first stories Barack told me when he and Michelle arrived on Moskito Island was how, just before he became president, he had been surfing on a dangerous break in Hawaii," Branson wrote. "The new head of his security team turned to him and said: 'This will be the last time you surf for eight years.'"

Obama's story evolved into friendly competition between the former president and Branson. "Could Barack learn to kitesurf before I learned to foilboard?" Branson wrote. "We agreed to have a final day battle to see who could stay up the longest." And, spoiler alert, Obama totally schooled Branson.
